We are in the deep part of summer right now, which means many maternity sessions are held IN the studio! St. Louis summers can be VERY hot for very pregnant soon to be moms. However, to be fair, I LOVE simple maternity sessions. A casual maternity photoshoot is simple to plan, stress free and all about the bump.
There is nothing better than a fitted black dress, open jeans or an oversized white shirt. I also love to use black or white crop tops for belly shots with jeans. I will link some of my favorites at the bottom of this post! Not all photos shown in this post but I’ll add a few of my favorites.
When I photograph maternity sessions, I like to do so around week 32-36. It’s when the bump has popped enough to see, but mom is not ready to head to the delivery room! That being said, I always joke during sessions with pregnant moms and toddlers, ” while I LOVE birth photography, let’s not do that today!” HA!
