VaVa Voom Boudoir Photographer Feature. A sexy and beautiful shoot by Jessie, featuring  2 of my most popular indoor actions sets.

Dream in Color and Dream in Black and White.

Ok. If you are not familiar with Jessie from VaVa Voom Boudoir photography, you should be. This girl is it.  The future of boudoir photography.  She produces sexy and beautiful images while remaining classy and trendy. Take a look over her work on her website to see for yourself.  Jessie and I have been friends now for about 2 years. We both started photography about the same time, and “met” through a closed Facebook group.  When we both had NO fans, and NO followers, I had a hunch about this girl. This is my turn to tell HER…. “I TOLD YOU SO!” 🙂  Yes, I will pat myself on my back for recognizing such talent super early on.  🙂  Jessie has the eye. One day we will meet in person and I will watch her shoot. I wanna see her bring her inner sexy to a shoot, because heavens knows that I sure don’t bring ANY of that kind of thought process around with me….like ever. Kinda jealous 😉  Who wouldn’t want to make women feel amazing about them self? That’s what Jessie is all about. You don’t have to look like the woman featured here to have a beautiful boudoir session. Not many women do. Jessie brings it out in EVERY woman. She for real rocks. As a photographer, as a person and now as a new mama herself!  Secretly wanting to book her myself….Did I just say that out loud? 🙂

Before we get started, Jessie is big user of my action sets. This entire shoot was edited using only my Dream in Color and Dream in BW sets.  She used them exactly how I had them envisioned in my head when creating them. Make sure to check out my facebook page for info for sales.

So let’s hear what Jessie has to say and see how she rocks a full session! :

Emily: How long have you been doing boudoir photographer?
Jessie: I starting shooting boudoir in October 2011. I fell in love instantly!

Emily: How has being a boudoir photographer made you a stronger photographer over all?
Jessie: Boudoir is challenging and I love a challenge. You can’t just show up for to your shoot and expect amazing results. You have to put the time in. I thrive on the fact that women in general do not like their picture taken.  Boudoir has taught me to “date” my client. I work really hard to build trust from the first contact so when they show up…they feel like they’ve known me for years!

Emily: How do you make women comfortable in front of the camera?
Jessie: Sorta what I mentioned before, It all starts from the first phone call. You have to build trust. Once we are shooting, I like to ease into it. Maybe start them in a wardrobe choice that is a little more conservative and ease into it. I also like to pump the music and show them a few images from the back of my camera—that usually does the trick!

Emily: Describe your boudoir style in less than 6 adjectives.
Jessie: Timeless, Fun, Classy, Light, and Sexy of course

Emily: What advice do you have for other artists?
Jessie: “Comparison is the death of happiness” – not sure who said it but boy is it true. In this day and age of social media, it’s really easy to get memorized by other artists work. Give yourself a break from social media! 20 years ago, you didn’t know about the “mini” sessions X photographer was doing. You didn’t worry about them. Focus on you and don’t compare yourself. Everyone is at different stages in their journey!

Emily: What’s in your camera bag?
Jessie:
Camera Bodies: Canon 5D Mark III & Canon 5 D Mark II.
Lenses: 35mm 1.4L, 50mm 1.2L, 85mm 1.2L, 100mm 2.8L, 24-105 4.0L, and soon to be the 135mm

GAH. How is Eva old enough to graduate. She will be graduating this Spring of 2026 from Saint Joseph’s Academy (Saint Joe). This hurts my brain. I have known and photographed her since she was little as I’ve known her mom a long time! I love this season I am in with who I’m photographing. […]

Eva – Class of 2026 – Saint Joe

I discovered a hidden spot during my son’s soccer practice that would ONLY work for about 15-20 minutes AT sunset, and ONLY if there was sun. I mean…. I GUESS we could do NO sun too…. but the sunset was epic here. Actually, this was late in the season and we had to move spots, […]

This baby needs no introduction. Clearly his hair speaks for itself. 🙂 I LOVE simple newborn sessions. Each one will go totally differently depending on how sleepy they are, when they arrived, etc etc.  When photographing newborns we will do so about day 10 through about day 21 (ish).  We have many come early and […]
