Dramatic backlighting is my thing.  This shoot was SO fun for me.  People ask me all the time if I specialize in newborn photography. The thing is, I don’t specialize. I LOVE newborn photography. I do.  I love posing little itty bitty newborn, I love lifestyle newborn photography, I love backlit mom images.  But there is a part of me that needs to get super creative at sunset. I supposed it feeds the inner artist in me a bit. When families book a photo session with me, they know I only shoot at sunset for this very reason. Backlighting during shoots is SO much fun when you know all the little tricks to get your best shots.

With this session, it was meant to be miss Scarlett’s 1 yr photo session. Her older sister came along (they have a huge family). I am SO glad she did. We had a total blast driving and chasing the sun.  Here are some highlights from her shoot. LOVE.
