I still can’t believe that this is my JOB. My Job. For real. With every session I have, I love something about each one. Of all the sunset in St. Louis sessions, there is something different about each one. For this session, we had a TON of fun and you can see it through their images. I am not a typical family photographer. I don’t pose people by fences, by trees, in barns etc. I capture interaction. I have a big sign coming for my new photography studio in Chesterfield that says, “life inspired photographer”. For me, when I look back on my photos with and of my children, I want to see THEM. I don’t want to see forced poses with fake faces saying “cheese”. This session epitomizes what I love about photography. Not all of our shots are the children smiling. There were times they needed extra mommy and daddy snuggles. There were times where the two girls needed to hug each other only as sisters can hug. There were moments where dad was looking at his girls in a way only a dad can look at them. There were times were mom had 2 littles clutching to her and loving on her as kids can only love on their mom. Then there were the moments between mom and dad, where you could see how their family is so full of love. All of these moments are those moments that we don’t typically take a photo of on our own. But they sure are the moments we will love to look back on one day and remember.
I had a hard time picking my favorites. But make sure to scroll ALL the way down to experience the full range of the session we had. Some of my favorites are at the end! I did have to leave some out, but I picked what I thought really captured this family. Totally in love with this family. And totally in love with my job.
Side note, sessions book EARLY! To become aware of when I open blocks of times prior to opening to the public, hop onto my St. Louis newsletter here!
omg…I love these so much! Your amazing Emily!!!
Fantastic Shots
Hi! Your photos are beautiful. The ilder girl reminds me of my daughter – and I really want to get my kids into modeling. I am not a girly mom so I’m clueless when it comes to clothing and prop prep so need a photog who will make suggestions. Hair and makeup is beyond my abilities. Do you coordinate that or have preferred stylists for your shoots?
Thank you so much!
Jaime
