About 6 months ago, I started to use IRIS works as my studio management program. After I had it all set up, I watched it do it’s magic.  As a photographer, we spend hours a day replying to emails, sending contracts, invoices, reminder emails, what to wear emails, thank you emails, etc etc.

Now, when I get an email, I put their information into Iris as a potential new client. Once they convert, I let Iris know, put their session into my Iris calendar (which will sync to my ical as well as google cal if you have that) and thats it! I have attached workflows for each of my types of sessions. For instance, if someone books a newborn lifestyle session, at the time of booking they will receive a questionnaire all of which will help me guide our session together.  In that, they enter their address, etc. All of that info that my client enters goes into their file. I don’t enter a thing. You can have auto emails set up, contracts in there as well as invoices.

After I enter my client into my calendar, I head over to invoice them for their session fee. I literally add in the drop down what I want, pick a client, and click go. They can then pay on paypal right away. Contracts, the same thing. I pick a client, pick the type of contract, click go. They fill it out and it automatically goes into their file. Guess what. All of that took me 2 minutes. Ok… maybe 1.

And you know what all this means?

I get to see THESE 2 goofballs, more. 🙂

Side note…. Tyler is going to Kindergarten in 3 weeks! So I NEED to be spending any free time I can with him 🙂

As much as I love photographing newborns — and I really do — it’s the connection that gets me. As a St. Louis newborn photographer, my focus is always on capturing real connection in a clean, natural studio setting. With parents. With siblings. With the whole family adjusting to someone new. When most people think about a […]

St. Louis Newborn Photographer | Natural, Connection-Focused Studio Sessions

Senior year always feels far away… until it suddenly isn’t. Being a St. Louis senior photographer is one of my favorite! If you’re starting to think about senior photos for the Class of 2026 or Class of 2027, spring and summer are some of the easiest seasons to book. I photograph seniors throughout the St. […]

Senior Photos in St. Louis | Class of 2026 & 2027 Spring + Summer Sessions

GAH. How is Eva old enough to graduate. She will be graduating this Spring of 2026 from Saint Joseph’s Academy (Saint Joe). This hurts my brain. I have known and photographed her since she was little as I’ve known her mom a long time! I love this season I am in with who I’m photographing. […]

I discovered a hidden spot during my son’s soccer practice that would ONLY work for about 15-20 minutes AT sunset, and ONLY if there was sun. I mean…. I GUESS we could do NO sun too…. but the sunset was epic here. Actually, this was late in the season and we had to move spots, […]
